The Kinks, una delle più grandi rock band inglesi di tutti i tempi, celebrano il loro 60esimo anniversario con l’antologia “The Journey” divisa in due parti, la prima uscirà il 24 marzo. Formata nel 1963 a Muswell Hill, nel nord di Londra, dai fratelli Ray e Dave Davies con l’amico Pete Quaife, a cui si aggiunse Mick Avory all’inizio del 1964, la band si è rapidamente affermata come uno dei gruppi che ha definito la musica degli anni ’60. Le canzoni di “The Journey – Part 1” (1964-1975) sono state selezionate per la prima volta personalmente da Ray, Dave e Mick, secondo temi ispirati dalle loro esperienze e vicissitudini vissute nel loro viaggio di vita comune come band dal 1963. Al suo interno successi come “You Really Got Me”, “Waterloo Sunset”, “All Day And All Of The Night”, “Celluloid Heroes”, “Supersonic Rocket Ship”, “Dead End Street” e “Death Of A Clown”.

“Chiedetevi: questo viaggio è davvero necessario? …….Yes”, riflette Ray Davies. Dave Davies continua: “Sono entusiasta di quella che ritengo una selezione dei Kinks ispirata, magica e senza tempo”. “The Journey – Part 1” sarà pubblicata in formato 2CD, 2LP, digitale e digitale HD. I formati fisici contengono un libretto con foto della band e note personali track-by-track di Ray, Mick e Dave, in cui condividono i loro ricordi del periodo in cui questi brani sono stati registrati e li inseriscono nell’incredibile storia dei Kinks.
